About the Baker

Kay Allison

Kay is a Phoenix native. Born on the west side, she grew up on a dairy with her 4 siblings. Every morning, her mother always cooked hot breakfasts, many of which included fresh biscuits and strawberry jam.

Rise was born out of Kay’s love of the country breakfast she grew up with. She now lives in the Willo neighborhood located near downtown Phoenix with her husband, Chip and their three kids ages, 7, 6 and 3. Kay’s passion is to bring the good ol fashioned country biscuits to the city she now lives in.

Rise offers buttermilk and gluten free biscuit options. We serve up our hot little biscuits as well as all the biscuit making essentials – biscuit mixes, unique custom tea towels and biscuit cutters at the downtown Open Air farmers market on Saturday mornings at the Phoenix Public Market. We also specialize in catering small events. We love bringing our biscuit bar, complete with all the biscuit toppings, to your party!
